Weymouth Evening High graduates 54 students from 8 communities

WEYMOUTH — Zachery Williamson said he started having difficulty at school with remote learning and was failing several classes at Hingham High School when the COVID pandemic hit.

“There would be a time when I would cry on camera because I would think about how late I was,” Williamson said.

So he enrolled in Weymouth Evening High School at the suggestion of his mother – herself a graduate of the program – in hopes of getting the support he needed to complete his education. On Monday, he graduated as a class salutatorian.

“The program really helped me a lot. I got more attention and the teachers were more involved,” said Williamson, 19, from Marshfield. “I doubted myself a lot, and that made me believe that I’m good enough and I’m smart in these situations.”

Williamson is one of 54 people from eight towns who have graduated from Weymouth Evening High School this year.
