The Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH), the university’s largest division, is dedicated to attracting and developing the brightest minds in health education and research to create and shape the future of health. We are currently seeking to nominate an outstanding senior scholar as Professor or Associate Professor of Allied Health, in partnership with the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). The position is part of a strategic partnership between the School of Health Sciences, WFH, and WSLHD, with the goal of improving the research capacity of allied clinical investigators and fostering the link between institutions to support the research and education and other activities, such as student internships. The partnership is committed to improving the health of people in the Western Sydney area through evidence-based patient-centred care, sharing knowledge and skills, and preparing ready allied health professionals. to work. This position will focus on contributing to the evidence base of effective community and/or clinical allied health services. The position will also work closely with the Allied Health District Director and WSLHD Allied Health staff to build research capacity and lead and integrate research between FMH and WSLHD, and foster the development of a collegial relationship. across institutions, to support Allied Health more broadly.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant academic field and possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of key strategic issues in the higher education sector. You will have demonstrated success in leading an academic enterprise from designing programs to producing cutting-edge research and creating a supportive environment for students. With a distinguished record of excellence in academic teaching (as evidenced by successful student achievement, demonstrated impact on student learning, recognition through awards/prizes, and innovation), the successful candidate will also have a international reputation as an authority in its discipline or area of ​​expertise, with a supportive research profile that includes competitive research grants, publications, and evidence of recognition within the wider research community. Your experience in leadership and people management in the higher education sector will serve to demonstrate an ability to supervise and/or mentor others to success and you will be passionate about improving the delivery of health services locally by enabling quality research and the translation of research to practice by others.

The successful candidate must have established relationships with key academic, industry and/or professional institutions, partners and stakeholders, which can be leveraged to enhance the reputation of the school, faculty and university .

Duration and remuneration

Successful candidates will be offered a full-time, fixed-term position for 5 years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory trial period for new appointees.

The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
