  • Base salary $111,966 – $126,271 + 17% pension

About the Opportunity

The Scholarships and Gift Events Manager provides overall project and operations management for work in the Gifts, Scholarships and Events functional areas of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • provide strategic, policy and operational advice to the faculty and support faculty leadership to ensure quality assurance and governance processes are followed and risks are mitigated as required by policies, controls relevant laws and regulations of the University
  • ensure the efficient and effective delivery of donations, scholarships and event management implementation, ensuring alignment with University and Faculty strategic objectives
  • act as function lead for gifts, scholarships and events and is responsible for the development of strategic plans, operational plans, processes and procedures, operational budgets and financial management in these three areas, to ensure achievement of milestones and deliverables.

The Gifts, Scholarships and Events Manager manages stakeholders and communications to ensure effective collaboration and teamwork with other University project teams and stakeholders while promoting a professional culture of the customer.

About you

  • proven management experience as well as flexibility, ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and, if necessary, to navigate ambiguity
  • previous experience in the higher/tertiary education sector or in a complex multi-faceted organization
  • experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • experience and literacy in financial management, experience in managing budgets and controlling income and expenses
  • experience managing multiple workflows or leading large, complex programs and ability to work to strict deadlines and manage diverse demands strong business acumen, strategic thinking and problem solving skills as well as effective management skills some people
  • good understanding of event management processes
  • planning, analytical and communication skills as well as the ability to work to strict deadlines and manage various demands.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian temporary residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed-term contract for the duration of their visa, depending on hiring area and position requirements.
