Left Hand Brewing Company is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Assistant General Manager to join our new restaurant in the RiNo neighborhood of Denver, opening in the fall of 2022.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • RiNo’s Assistant General Manager helps oversee all RiNo Drinks & Eats activities.
  • Acts as an extension of the General Manager, both in expectation and execution.
  • Builds strong team cohesion by being engaged, accessible and highly communicative.
  • Observes, directs and interacts with team and guests during peak hours each day. Reaches over 80% presence on the ground and executes a managerial course in 8.
  • Communicates, delegates and follows up with the team to ensure we deliver memorable experiences to our guests.
  • Understands and assists the General Manager with all aspects of RiNo Drinks & Eats beer and FVX beverage needs, including but not limited to monthly inventory and ordering, draft system maintenance and parts inventory (including escalation of any issues that cannot be resolved internally), and dissemination of all new FVX beer and beverage information.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of the brewing and hospitality industry, attends educational and Liquor Enforcement Division (LED) workshops, and participates in event groups as needed.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on an annual RiNo Drinks & Eats plan by surveying customer demand; identifies and assesses local competition; and collaborates with the General Manager to prepare financial, marketing and sales projections to achieve budgeted and planned annual objectives.
  • Works with the General Manager to ensure SOPs and department specific training manual(s) are up to date.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations pertaining to the health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, suppliers, manufacturers and guests.
  • Stays up to date on new health code regulations and ensures compliance.
  • Maintains oversight of the following as performed by the team – daily reconciliation of RiNo Drinks & Eats ledger, tip distribution through payroll, updating reconciliation forms for all sales and completion of RiNo Drinks purchase order & Eats.
  • Assists and manages forecasts/budgets for RiNo Drinks & Eats.
  • In conjunction with GM, oversees new hire onboarding and offshoring coordination with HR.
  • Assists the General Manager and Culinary Director to modify F&B pricing based on supply chain, inflation, allocation and any other impediments that arise.
  • Helps maintain oversight of weekly (merchandise and POS items) and monthly (BWL and FVX beverages) inventory counts run by the team and ensure counts are accurate and submitted.
  • Oversees the execution of the training and testing program with the team, ensures that the team has the required certifications, and ensures that the team verifies the guest identities of all persons who appear to be 50 years of age or less.
  • Ensures a two-week schedule is created for good work/life balance and effective coverage (bar, patios, merchandise, training) and uploaded to Paylocity. Monitors PTO requests and ensures schedule is communicated to RiNo Drinks & Eats team in a timely manner.
  • Works with the RiNo leadership team to help plan, budget, review and engage the entire RiNo Drinks & Eats team on all monthly and annual calendars of public and private events to drive sales and profitability.
  • Helps maintain oversight of weekly (merchandise and POS items) and monthly (BWL and FVX beverages) inventory counts run by the team and ensure counts are accurate and submitted.

  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • 2+ years of experience as an assistant general manager.
    • 3+ years of restaurant management experience.
    • Knowledge of catering software: planning, inventory, POS.
    • Strong business acumen to manage P&L and run a profitable organization.
    • Extensive food knowledge – service, preparation, ingredients, food and beverage menu engineering/matching.
    • TIPS certification required / Cicerone Beer Server certification preferred
    • Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
