The HRM and OB department of SBS brings together a multidisciplinary team of internationally renowned academics with teaching and research interests in the areas of human resource management and organizational behavior, as well as related areas such as human relations. industrial/employment studies, employment studies, organizational studies, labor economics and sociology of work. The Department has a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, which builds on the strengths and research expertise of the staff. We lead the MSc HRM program and contribute to several other programs offered by SBS.

Recent research topics by members of the HRM and OB group include alternative leadership theory, careers and skills, digital media, technologies and people, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and ethics, entrepreneurship and self-employment, human resource development, self-employed professionals, individuals and organizational responses to challenges, labor market institutions and workplace unions, new ways of working, power in technological change programmes, the work/non-work interface, work quality and well-being, and workforce diversity and inequality. Members of the Department have published in leading academic journals, such as the British Journal of Management, British Journal of Industrial Relations, Gender, Work and Organization, Human Relations, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Journal, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Organization Studies, Public Management Review, Research Policy, and Work, employment and society.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent degree/professional qualifications and experience), as well as a growing academic reputation in your specialized discipline, demonstrated by a record of high-quality published research. Applicants with training in quantitative methods and topics related to HRM are particularly encouraged to apply, although we are of course open to applications from people with strong expertise in different methodologies and research backgrounds – our department is and will remain pluralistic and methodologically diverse. Visible, engaged and collegial, you will have undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience and be passionate about developing and disseminating successful learning techniques.

As a lecturer, you will play a central role in advancing the research and teaching of the department. You will teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and act as a leader and ambassador for us in all management and engagement activities. Whether developing your own teaching approaches, embarking on new research projects, or contributing to the effective administration of our department, you will have the opportunity to innovate and make a significant impact. .
