Sandhill Kid, right, and Doc perform at the Fort Museum during Frontier Days in June 2021. This year’s events are set to kick off today and run through the weekend, including a parade with over 100 entries on Saturday morning in downtown Fort Dodge.

The sawdust will fly when a chainsaw artist gets to work tonight at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village. And some soldiers in vintage uniforms from the 1800s might just walk into the stockade.

The appearance of artisans and the ghost garrison can only mean one thing: Frontier Days are here.

The annual celebration at Fort Dodge begins at 4 p.m. today and continues through Sunday.

With the exception of the parade on Central Avenue, all events will take place at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village on Kenyon Road.

Admission to the Fort Museum will cost $6 per person or $22 for a family of four.
