Austin Andrews and Jori Kerr left their home in Oregon and started traveling the world, documenting their adventures on TikTok.

Although they’ve been saving for flights and other expenses for years, they finally managed to do so after coming across Trusted House Sitters, a website that matches pet sitters with owners in need of help.

In exchange for their pet sitting services, the couple got free accommodation, which allowed them to travel the world.

They revealed to Insider that although they use Andrew’s family home as a base between excursions, they hope to travel full-time eventually.

Jori said: “We both love pets, so we were immediately super excited”,

The couple decided to take the risk and quit their jobs after taking out an annual subscription to the site, which costs between £102 and £205.

At first they decided to just pitch in and do small pet sitting jobs in their hometown.

“The most important thing for us was to start locally,” explained Austin.

“We just didn’t know what to expect when walking into a stranger’s house.”

Once they got a feel for how the site worked and the patting gigs, they started applying for international jobs.

They didn’t have much luck at first, but when a job in Granada came up, they got the job after a video interview.

“We were like, ‘this is all we expected,'” Jori said.

“It was just such a proud moment for us, really and very exciting.”

Since their trips to Grenada, the couple have taken many other pet sitting trips and are always on the lookout for the next one.

In fact, in the six months since joining the site, the duo have traveled to Germany, Gibraltar, Grenada and the United States.

“It can be daunting to take that leap and it can be a little disappointing when you get turned down for those seats you put a lot of effort into, but being persistent and showing dedication goes a long way,” Jori confessed.

“We love this way of life so much that we hope we can make it permanent,” she added.
