The Campus Kitchen is the University of Southampton’s in-house catering service. We facilitate a host of services across the University to include the provision of food in catering halls, retail catering outlets on all campuses and a delivered catering service for all hospitality requirements. Our goal is to provide a five-star catering service, meeting a wide range of needs and requirements and enhancing the experience of staff, students and visitors on campus.

The role

You will provide high levels of customer service through food and beverage delivery and service across campus. Daily duties will involve preparing delivered catering boxes to include equipment, hot/cold beverages and food, assisting with basic food preparation, deliveries and collections in a company vehicle, cleaning duties, operation of basic kitchen and dishwashing equipment, assistance with set-up, service and clean-up of conference and hospitality events as required.

Hours of work are full-time, but part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. You will need to be flexible in terms of working hours which will include some evenings and weekends as part of the regular work week, rotation patterns are on a 5 day per week basis.

Additional work benefits include time off during the Easter and Christmas period due to university closing days, public holidays and a 36 hour working week. Lunch is offered to all members of the catering team subject to a spending limit.

About you

You will be a highly motivated, friendly and proactive individual who takes pride in your work and prioritizes customer experience above all else. You will strive to ensure excellent service standards and thrive when working as part of a team. You must be prepared to work overtime and offer greater flexibility during peak periods: September to November, graduation weeks and open houses.

You ideally have experience in both delivery management and customer relations. Good knowledge of food and drink would be an advantage.
