The University of Southampton Hearing Implant Service (USAIS) provides a regional service to provide hearing implants to deaf adults and children located at the University of Southampton Highfield Campus. USAIS is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the multidisciplinary team.
As an experienced administrator, you will join our customer service team by assisting with the purchase of patient hearing technology and the receipt, management, safe storage and transportation of high value hearing implants. You will quickly develop close working relationships with vendors and be the primary point of contact for administrative processes related to repairs of defective patient equipment returned to the clinic. You will be the first point of contact for patients having problems with their equipment and you will acquire the technical skills to enable you to troubleshoot the equipment. You will also be part of the team managing the busy front desk and reception, acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of visitors, some of whom will be deaf and have communication difficulties related to their disability.
To be successful, you will demonstrate your ability to work in a team and build relationships and provide customer-focused service. You will be comfortable on the phone and in direct contact with people and will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. It would be advantageous if you have experience working with communication difficulties or deafness and specialized financial management applications such as Agresso, as well as experience managing a clinic schedule through a time management system. patients.
You will be highly motivated to work within a dynamic team with minimal supervision and be able to find solutions to challenges. You will need an excellent level of English, good computer skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Satisfactory standard-level Disclosure and Barring Service authorization may be required for this role.
