CEYLON– There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Regional Worship Center just south of I-90 in Sherburn. In addition, there will be blood drives at Fairmont June 7-9 at the Best Western Motel and June 20 at Truman. Blood is extremely necessary now. Give the gift of life, give blood. The Ceylon Region Historical Society Museum will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month in June, July and August. The first Saturday is today June 4th. The museum is located at the back of the old town hall building opposite the post office and east of the bank with an entrance on the west side of the building. Look for the school memorial. Look for many articles about the city and the region. What an interesting place to visit.
Tuesday coffee hours will begin June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. JohnÕs Lutheran Church in Sherburn. There is also a Coffee Lovers group meeting from 8:30-10:00 on Thursdays at Legends ll in Ceylon. Join your friends and neighbors for great coffee and great camaraderie.
Ceylon High School All Class Reunion will be held on June 25 at Legends ll in Ceylon. Plan now to attend. The Ceylon Region Historical Society Museum will be open at 4 p.m. on June 24 and all day on June 25.
They have memorabilia for sale and old high school class photos that used to hang in the lobby along with many other items of interest. Happy reunions.
The St. Paul’s Lutheran women’s group in Wilbert is reminded that their June 9 meeting has been canceled, along with the July meeting. The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. on August 11.
Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have services on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. with communion. All residents of the area are invited to join them during this service and every Saturday evening.
There will be a Relay for Life to help raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society. The relay will take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 25 at Martin County Fairgrounds, Fairmont. This year there will be the full program as it has been in previous years. Plan now to attend.
