Butx of Minaur started playing tennis at the age of three and turned professional in 2015. De Minaur had a good junior career and reached a career high of 2 on the junior circuit and won the men’s doubles title from the 2016 Australian Open alongside Blake Ellis.
De Minaur made his professional debut in July 2015 at Spain’s F22, reaching the quarter-finals. He received a wildcard for the 2016 Australian Open qualifying rounds, but lost in the first round. De Minaur then spent the majority of the 2016 season playing on the ITF circuit in Spain, reaching two finals.
